Come out to enjoy a night of one-act play readings on the Hudson River with some very talented folks at the amphitheatre located at Sinatra Park on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 6:00 pm. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair!

Flooding
Comedy
B and C try to take a simple drive to a coffee shop. But there’s a problem. B has a phobia of cars, and C has a phobia of small spaces. As the two phobics struggle to put the key in the ignition and close the door, they end up bearing their hearts and falling for each other.
Looking for Bruce
Comedy
After posting her “Lost Cat” flyers all over town, Geraldine finds her recently estranged house cat, Bruce, on his birthday. During the last ten days of living on the streets, Bruce has discovered there’s more to life than just Fancy Feast and catnip. Geraldine desperately wants him back, but Bruce wants her new boyfriend out of the picture first.

In the stockroom of Harry’s Supermarket, Dale, the owner’s son, discovers Shelly, young mermaid with a penchant for light beer, wading in a kiddie pool. As a hurricane threatens to destroy the small town, both Dale and Shelly realize they need each other in order to escape alive.
Moon Man
Dramedy
In the middle of the night, Lilith, a difficult widow, is visited by Moon Man, who has traveled from the moon to keep her company. Although Lilith tells Moon Man to leave, she is torn between wanting him to actually go and wanting him to stay. So she calls her son, Frankie, pretending that the house is on fire. When Frankie arrives, he cannot see Moon Man and finally reaches the end of his patience with his mother’s lying.
The Attic
Comedy
Moving backwards in time, the relationship between Lucy and Tucker, her living rag doll, man unfolds in Lucy’s attic. Through their relationship, we also discover the relationships Lucy has with her mother, father, and husband.
Once Removed
Dramedy
Elliot and Maggie, a married couple diseased with a deep sadness, are desperate to get back into bed. But here’s an undeniable bump under the covers and they are forced to face a recent tragedy.

JAMI BRANDLI is an award-winning playwright published with Smith & Kraus. Her play, Technicolor Life, won the 2010 John Gassner Memorial Playwriting Award and was developed at WordBRIDGE Playwrights Lab and the Ashland New Plays Festival. It was also finalist for the 2011 O’Neill National Playwrights Conference and 2010 Princess Grace Fellowship. Her play, The Sinker, world premiered at HotCity Theatre in St. Louis and was nominated for a 2010 Kevin Kline Award for “Outstanding New Play.” Her latest play, BLISS (or Emily Post is Dead!), will be presented this spring as a MainStage selection for the 2012 Great Plains Theatre Conference.
