_gaia would like to THANK all the supporters who came out to _gaia’s fundraiser at Dive 75 in NY! We also would like to thank all the individuals who gave contributions towards the production of “String”. Without your support this production would not be possible.
Kurt Davis – Derek
Kurt Davis has no idea what he’s doing here. It’s been 25 years since the award-winning filmmaker and screenwriter has set foot on a stage. Bitten by the acting bug in grade school, Davis starred in various productions, “ending” his career in high school with MAN OF LA MANCHA. Earning his BFA in film at School of Visual Arts, Davis dedicated his life to film and TV production, working on THE BROTHER FROM ANOTHER PLANET and BEVERLY HILLS COP 2, among others. In association with NBC, Davis hosts episodes of I LOVE THIS MOVIE! at Netflix.com, a classic-film series he co-created. Most recently, Davis worked for NBC Digital Media as a “preditor” (producer/editor) and The Sci Fi Channel as a multimedia producer. Two days after department-wide cuts cost him his job, Davis impulsively auditioned for String – sans headshot or resume – and was cast. He is honored and delighted to be here.
Ginny Moore – Joy
Ginny is thrilled to be a part of the cast of String. Currently she is an apprentice at The Barrow Group and was most recently seen onstage in Lysistrata (off-off broadway) and at Don’t Tell Mama Cabaret. She moved here last year from Chicago where she was student in Second City’s conservatory program and performed with many companies, including Quest Theatre Ensemble, The Artistic Home, and Emerald City. Ginny is grateful to her friends and family for their support and is more than happy about continuing her career here in New York.
Rodney E. Reyes – Cliff
Rodney is an artistic director and co-founder of Cuchipinoy Productions. He recently directed In Reverse Order and Death of a Prom Queen for Apricot Sky Production’s “Flush.” He was last seen as Sigmund Freud in Cuchipinoy Production’s “Dark Sonnets of the Lady.” He has directed for the Spotlight On Festival, Midtown International Festival and the New York International Fringe Festival. He is currently working on his original play “Who Am I” for the Fall season for Cuchipinoy Productions. He is also working on directing short films for Artists Working Corporate for an online distribution. He would like to thank the cast and crew and especially _gaia for a fantastic opportunity.
Rachel Skrod – Raina
This is Rachel’s 2nd time working with _gaia. She started acting at the ripe little age of 7, and in some aspect theater has been a part of her life ever since. Rachel’s latest production was that of “Ellie” in Death of a Prom Queen and prior to that she was in a 2 year production where she played “Becky” in Pack Your Stuff and Leave at the Producers Club in New York. She majored in theatre at Palm Beach College and takes classes from time to time at the HB in NYC. Rachel is thrilled to be back working with _gaia and the amazing, talented, and fun-loving cast of String! Rachel loves this play so much that she hounded the Director/Producer about it for the past year about when they were going to put it up. She would like to give a little shout out to Taylor and Lillian for their friendship and for giving her the opportunity to play such an amazing character. Keeps, hi? ?
Tim Watson – Ryan
Tim is proud to return to the stage and be apart of the String cast. He was most recently seen as Fred in 2006’s A Christmas Carol at the DeBaun Center for Performing Arts right here in Hoboken. He regularly performs with the Marvel Character Appearance Program and in his spare time he enjoys high fall stunt training. He would like to thank family and friends for their continuing support.
