We will be joining the Jersey City Museum this weekend for two very special events: a free night of art and wine on Friday and an incredible craft sale co-produced by the Jersey City Craft Mafia on Saturday. Join us for one or both!!
Target First Fridays at JCM
Friday, December 4, 2009, 5 – 8:30 p.m. Free.
Come enjoy a glass of wine and light fare in the atrium, explore exhibitions and galleries, create Victorian-era crafts and sample the museum’s special events. Highlights include back-to-back programs in the Caroline L. Guarini theater. At 6:30 p.m., Doris Caçoilo and Pollie Barden will lead twitter love, a fun and practical guide to “tweeting” and other social media. At 7:30 p.m., Jane Steuerwald and URBAN IMAGE will premiere Selected Shorts, a showcase of short films and video works by NJCU alumni. This event is part of part of JC FRIDAYS.

For art lovers, holiday shoppers, green-enthusiasts wanting to ‘buy local’, and anyone interested in cool, unusual and hard-to-find gifts! Enjoy hot cocoa in the café and be the first to shop this unique sale! Co-produced with The Jersey City Craft Mafia, Designer Days is timed to give a jumpstart on holiday shopping. This year’s sale will offer a wide variety of jewelry, home accessories, wearables, vegan bath and body creations, and one-of-kind gifts from regional artists. Mingle with your friends, meet the artists and find cool gifts.
At 12:30 p.m., help celebrate the release of Leon Yost and Cynthia Harris’s new coffee table book Changing Jersey City, A History in Photographs. Leon Yost will present a slide lecture based on the book in the museum’s theater. The book makes a unique gift and will be for sale in the museum’s gift shop at a special holiday price. Following the lecture, Leon Yost will sign copies of the book in the atrium.
Plus! DJ Rory Stroganoff and DJ Motorfunker of WPRB Radio will be spinning holiday tunes in the atrium throughout the afternoon.
