Agnieszka Wszolkowska has pushed Braille beyond its original purpose as a written language for the blind. She has explored it as a visual code. Her paintings are bold expressions of color, with the subtle contrast of embroidery thread. The dramatic images are appealing on both a conceptual and emotional level.
In this exhibit Agnieszka Wszolkowska brings us the entire alphabet in representations of individual Braille cells. The paintings stand alone, but together they pulsate against each other and create a charged, exciting experience.
