Moving on to process updates:

 

What a week to be working in the basement. It is freezing and I don’t have a space heater. I working with my coat and hat on and throw some clothes into the dryer to heat the room.

 

My neighbors must be getting a good show. I covered half the window but I wonder if it makes it more voyeuristic looking through just half.

 

Went to store to look into buying a dig video camera- realized my computer doesn’t have a fire wire, worried about quality. became obsessed with adding a drive to my computer, called Joanna to see if I could borrow her camera and then realized that my little dig camera has enough memory for almost an hours worth of video. So I’m working with my little digital elf as I am closing in on about 25-30 minutes of video with about 20 minutes of the clip slowed down to half time.

I have been playing with the many video effects that are on the editing software. Some are corny, but their use is all new to me and change the look of the image so much that I have a number of different sketches that I have saved that have different looks. I will post them as sketches on youtube for you to see as possibly variations on the same theme but the effects will not be included in the final piece.

Working with lighting. Every take I see something else I can change. This last filming I noticed that there is not much emphasis on my feet or the “pile” it may change the meaning, it may change the look of the whole piece and the ending if the pile is not really visible. I’m trying to diffuse a smaller light near my feet so you can see them but not take too much attention away from the swirling dust.

 

Sewed a simple white sleeveless crepe dress for the performance. Did a fashion show in front of the mirror- no underwear? Commando nude underwear? Nude bra? Completely nude? I don’t want any one thing to be too noticeable.
It would have been hilarious to photograph the private fitting and send to you all but my camera was out of batteries. Going with no top, commando underwear for less distractions. We made a bathing suit for Beary with the extra crepe fabric.

 

With so much white my hair looks so dark. I may pull it back, I just don’t want to get into fashion with this.
