the obituaries

Reading the obituaries can be intensely emotional, mostly depressing and generally avoided. Using the New York Times, I will draw attention to the lives and memories of those passed by setting their portrait forever in thread. The paper will undoubtedly fade but the portrait will always remain. Thread drawings are non-traditional embroideries stitched on paper, in this case I am literally stitching life into the memories of those passed.
