Call for Artistic Assistance: The Love Project

Love. It’s a mystery. It’s a many-splendoured thing. It can make your life meaningful. It can suck the meaning from your life. It’s the ultimate topic for an art project. Yes, you read that last bit correctly. Like so many artists before me, I am tackling the subject of love for a sculpture/installation project. You are cordially invited to participate.

What to Do:
Write down the name of an individual that you have been/are in love with on a piece of paper. It can be the name of your beloved life partner, or the person that sat in front of you in ninth grade English class, or the one that got away, or the one you worshipped from afar but were too afraid to talk to, or anyone else with whom you’ve felt that mysterious connection. I don’t need an explanation. All I want is a name. I leave the phrase “in love” open to your interpretation.

Although handwritten submissions are preferred, anyone particularly concerned with anonymity or unwilling to part with $.39 may submit a name via email to theloveproject@gmail.com . Feel free to submit more than one name, and please, PLEASE forward this call for assistance to anyone who may be interested in this project.

Your submission will never be connected with your name, address, or any identifying characteristics.  By participating in The Love Project, you are granting the artist the right to display your submission in a gallery setting. All submissions will become the property of the artist. The artist reserves the right to exclude certain submissions from the final project
