i added yet another medium into the mix. i did some printmaking of some of my watercolors and drawings. i also spent the week making more tea cakes and writing down recipes. i don’t generally measure any of my recipes. even my cookies for humans, i make a mean (kind) vegan/wheatfree pumpkin chocolate chip cookie, but don’t ask for the recipe bc i will just list ingredients!
a round up of Bird Party projects
drawings
watercolors
invites
decorations
a giant painting
a machine sewn portrait of a crow
some carved stamps of birds ( i may get a slug in there!)
soon to be completed zine and trading cards
wow did this residency push me! and i am ecstatic about it. thank you so much to my fellow residents and doris and meredith!
as a side note, i have been working at putting myself and my work first every once in a while. i never learned to care for myself. i have been a stay at home mom for the last 5 years and while i have not ever stopped making stuff, i really found it difficult to put myself first, or that’s what it felt like when i chose to paint rather than be with my family. i can now see that we are ALL much happier if i am making art. that lesson is MAJOR stuff for me. thank you wonder women!
