Jasmine grows in doorways and winds over arches, linking it to the intimacy of home.

used to stay in Agios Kassianos area.The original church, probably Latin, was built in the 15th century and burned down in 1570. Rebuilt in 1854, the present building is home to an exquisite panel painting of the Panagia (Virgin), dated 1400, as well as the helmet in which Kassianos, the saint whose name the church bears, is said to have been martyred.

Aunt Gianoulla remembers when women used to gather in front of the houses, and strung jasmine flowers on a palm branch or a string.Young girls wear them as perfume and jewllery on their afternoon walk.

Elia is an Air Hostess.She has three children,lives in Nicosia but her origin is from “Karmi” occupied village Kyrenia District.
