I named it and the artwork Mendax bc it means lying, falsehood, deception…. it also sounds like a computer word. Julian Assange also used the name Mendax when he was hacking, after Horace’s splendide Mendax, meaning deceitful with glory. Since I thought of the project after following the Wikileaks story, I thought it all tied in together.
