Newest update: I am ready to install

Still brewing up a title, but for the most part I am ready to install (with a pretty sound game plan).  Nothing has really changed since our last meeting except that the animation is almost done and will be done for next Sunday.  I have rerecorded the sound and it is super clean.  It’s shortened to be a little over two minutes.  So, I’ll show that to everyone on Sunday.

I am still unresolved about whether or not the sound will be through headphones.  I think though that I will break down and use headphones only because it is usually absolutely impossible to hear sound pieces and videos at openings.

The newest development, however, is this “netting” that I am making to “throw” over the top of the structure.  In drawing installation views, I started drawing this on the top of the structure and I decided to just make it.  I bought 1/8 inch parachuting cord in a “desert sand” color.  I’ve been making a net and notting the fake hair into it as I go.  It feels as though it’s “made of” the hair (I originally tried to just use the fake hair but it wouldn’t knot correctly).  I’m feeling really good about this aspect of the piece and I am confident that everyone who wanted me to show the costume itself maybe will have some resolution as well.  I feel that it connects the structure to the material in the video.  I also think that this touch will spatially articulate the ideas that I have been talking about.  (I apologize to the quality of the picture.  My camera was recently dropped and is completely broken 🙁 )
