short bio:

short bio : my background is in photography, significant events in the lives of others inspire my style of personal photography. last year, I was fortunate to work with the wonder women collective for the group show Ah, Motherland! working in a group motivated me to work in other mediums, to include thread on paper.
A group show in October, 365 days of print, helped me see that a photo can transform into a drawing by simply adding a stitch.
thread drawings are non traditional embroideries that are woven through paper. In this case I am using the New York Times to draw attention to the lives and memories of those passed by setting their portrait forever in thread. The recently deceased are celebrated by their friends and family and are remembered as the best version of themselves. reading“the obituaries”can be intensely emotional, this project however, is meant to draw attention to the person we lost and simultaneously introduce the new shoes left to fill.
