2 Bee or Knot….

Hi all,
It was inspiring to meet all of you last Sun and hear all the kick-ass projects! Below my original proposal.

I have had a fear and fascination with bees since I was young, and I have a series of prints and drawings of bees. This book which is still in the planning stage involves honey and its use as a preservative-in this case the ability to rejuvenate the dead. My thinking has been to create something of the past involving Egyptian mummy queens and the ULTIMATE anti-aging product. This book relates to the subject Mother of God in that it is about an archetype of women that has continued through history.

I’m very excited at the opportunity to talk about the Mother of God, feminism, the power of women, and what it all means today. Of course Mary leaps to mind when I read “Mother of God”, but the phrase can be stretched to fit many different cultures, times and places. Although it doesn’t always appear so in a male dominated society, one of woman’s “special powers”is to be a mother, and perhaps there is a mother for the god(dess) that exists in each of us.
