mog.pngPyrex, a clear, heat-resistant glass introduced in 1915 quickly became a ubiquitous symbol of modernity in the home. “Swift, clean, and economical;” their motto practically prophesized the homemaker/mother of the 1950s.

While the Women’s Liberation movement may have provided more freedom and opportunity, it did not diminish the responsibilities of women in the home.

In 2008, it is predicted that women will account for 48% of the labor force. How will we reconcile our status as professionals as well as keepers of the kitchen?

“Modern Wife #2” is a 3-5 minute film shot on video and Super 8mm that speaks to this question by reflecting upon the existing paradigm and attempting to shatter it.
