In which way(s) does your proposed project speak to the “Immigrant Experience”?
My proposed project speaks of the “Immigrant Experience” from my own personal experience. In this country there are a million stories of immigrants and their descendants and each experience is different. Immigrants are forced to leave their land (or as we discussed in the first meeting sometimes choose to leave) and adapt to a new one, but many times adapting is easier said than done. My project tackles the issues from the perspective of a 29 year old woman living in the US since she was 8, exploring her own issues of displacement, fragmentation, and a search for home. This project is a visual represenation of my personal discovery as I resolve these issues that every immigrant has to face at some point.
