Iraqimemorial.org<\/a> is an online call to action to artists, designers,
\narchitects or other interested creative individuals or collaborators
\nto propose concepts for the creation of memorials to the many
\nthousands of Iraqi civilians killed in the War in Iraq. \u00c2\u00a0As of 2007,
\nestimates range from 77,000 to over 655,000 deaths in Iraq of non-
\ncombatants as a consequence of \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Operation Iraqi Freedom\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. \u00c2\u00a0The
\nmemorial concepts will be featured in a growing online exhibition\/
\ndatabase of proposals accessible on the site. \u00c2\u00a0Proposals are
\navailable to be viewed and rated by the public as well as by an
\ninternationally diverse group of individual scholars and curators who
\nare serving as jurors.<\/p>\n

\nCalifornia Davis, USA, John David Spiak, Curator, Arizona State
\nUniversity Art Museum, Tempe, USA, Dr. Marjorie Vecchio, Director\/
\nCurator, Sheppard Fine Arts Gallery, University of Nevada, Reno, USA<\/p>\n

Guidelines for Entries:

\nThis project seeks to highlight conceptions of memorials in the
\nbroadest context possible. \u00c2\u00a0All media and processes are to be
\nfeatured on the project site, this includes but is not limited to
\nexperimental or traditional applications of: \u00c2\u00a0sculpture,
\narchitecture, installation, performance, murals, web art, digital
\nart, photography, video, film, audio art, etc. \u00c2\u00a0Please visit the
\nproject web site for further detailed entry requirements and
\ninformation.<\/p>\n

Who May Submit Proposals?
\nAll artists, architects, designers, individuals or collaborations are
\nwelcome and invited to submit proposals. You must be at minimum 18
\nyears old to participate in this project.<\/p>\n

How to Submit

\nEntries are solely accepted via an online submission process
\navailable through the project website.<\/p>\n

Deadline
\nAs a user generated content site, the project is ongoing indefinitely
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u201c Iraqimemorial.org<\/a> will continue to be realized as new memorial
\nproposals are uploaded to the site. \u00c2\u00a0A first \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Juror\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Deadline for
\nReview\u00e2\u20ac\u009d has been established as March 19th, 2008, the fifth
