I apologize I can not make it to the meeting today. I was hoping I could get into the studio to photograph the rest of the pieces by today \u00a0but that will have to wait another day or two. I just have a short update about the series. Originally when I was thinking about how many weeks to go for this series, I had thought to go to Week 35 because it was almost the end of the year. Thirty-five pieces at a foot wide each is thirty-five feet of wall space without any space in between them. When I was going through microfilm I came across the first week that there was no news reportage on the situation in the Gulf cleanup, it was Week 26. Ironically, the leak was “capped” during Week 13 (well at least if you try to find out what date it was capped it was this week, but when reading through the articles, it did continue to leak a little, though they say it wasn’t a significant amount, and a few weeks later they finally deemed it capped and tested).<\/p>\n
During the critiques someone, I believe Doris, \u00a0had mentioned maybe going for as long after capping the leaking well as it took to cap the well. Ironically, it’s that week that there was no news coverage. I think a blank blue field would be the perfect end to the series and so I will be ending with Week 26. I will post images of the final works this week. Please feel free to let me know how you feel about the blank piece. I am a little on the fence about whether it should be exactly like the others, just without text, or if it should be a completely blank piece of paper that is water warped like the rest. I am leaning towards the blue painted area.<\/p>\n
