I have mentioned the Feminist Art Project<\/strong><\/a> during meetings. I hope to promote the Mother of God show strongly within the FAP and would also like to introduce it more formally to all of you. Below is an update e-mail from the NJ coordinator Midori Yoshimoto. FAP will have some events at The College Art Association Conference<\/strong><\/a> coming up in February in NYC. Please look into the links below—lots of great panels and events organized by the late Arlene Raven and art historian Anne Swartz. This year is the target year for the FAP<\/strong><\/a>, it would be great to get as involved as possible.<\/p>\n

To: Participants in the Feminist Art Project – NJ Regional Committee,
\nand Those who are interested and hoping to come next time,<\/p>\n

First, my apologies for silencing for a while! After our meeting on
\n10\/4 at NJCU, I became too occupied with other things. Here, I would
\nlike to take a moment to follow up on our meeting and make a few
\nannouncements. I’m currently looking for an idea and venue for our
\nnext meeting, perhaps in March or April (since many of us are so busy
\nwith CAA.) If you have any upcoming feminist-art related events and
\nare interested in hosting our meeting during those events, please let
\nme know.<\/p>\n

At the last meeting, Doris Cacoilo, along with other artist members of
\n_gaia, a collective of women in multidisciplinary arts
\n(www.gaiastudio.org) based in Hoboken, provided an informative
\npowerpoint talk on gaia’s history and past activities. Some details
\nare recorded in the attached minutes for your interest. Their
\npresentation was so interesting and we did not really have time to
\ndiscuss generational differences in feminism. Our next meeting may
\npick up where we left off or generate new topics.<\/p>\n

As Nicole Plett informed some of you (already on the listserve), the
\nCAA conference in NY this year features many special events related to
\nor initiated by The Feminist Art Project. Doris Cacoilo and I will be
\nspeaking in the first feminist art session on Saturday, Feb. 17, and
\nI’m also involved in organizing the Award Ceremony for Distinguished
\nWomen in the Arts, cohosted by the CAA’s Committee on Women in the
\nArts, of which I am currently the chair, and the Women’s Caucus for
\nArt. This year’s honorees include Judy Brodsky and Ferris Olin, who
\nhave been driving force of the Feminist Art Project. Please support
\nthese events and spread a word!<\/p>\n

TFAP-related CAA Happenings:<\/p>\n

Saturday, February 17, features a day of Feminist Art Project Special
\nSessions, free and open to the public, organized by the late Arlene
\nRaven and art historian Anne Swartz, in the “Feminist Art Project
\nSpace,” Third Floor, Rendezvous Trianon, Hilton New York.

The CWA-WCA Awards Ceremony 2007 takes place Saturday, February 17,
