Looking again at my newer work, I have been removing widely-known icons from my sculptures and utilizing more everyday symbols or reassigning my own meaning onto them. That change can probably be attributed to Katerina Fritsch’s sculptures’ influence on me. Specifically, her Rat King, Man and Mouse, and that multi-poodle pieces. A couple of new ideas:
1. an oversized womb (covered in loose fabric) slowly growing and glowing/sparkling from within with a magical sound.

2. elements from the mothers of gods (not 1/2 gods) to unify the mythology of god’s mom

3. hiring a model and sitting him/her in a sculpture throne as this unified mother. I might just be thinking this through for the reception. I envisioned the guests to the reception having to take food from around her as if it were all part of an offering.

4. which punishments are suitable for the mother of god to use when her child is bad?

5. what are the requirements to be the mother of god if it were something i would like to pursue?
I’m leaning towards the expanding/contracting magical womb. I have enjoyed the mental images that accompany thoughts of the womb when a god gestates. Does a supreme being require any special nutrition? Can a fetal god be determined by any scientific means? Is the mother of a god capable of post-partum depression?
